Galge Review – Sougeki no Jaeger

Sougeki no Jaeger02v2Sougeki no Jaeger was able to draw some attention by looking like a sequel to Ayakashibito, a previous title by propeller that was rather popular and even got an English translation! But from what I saw, Jaeger is at most a spiritual successor, inheriting much of the same atmosphere but not sharing any story element. Nevertheless, it is a good game by its own merits…Well, this is if it’s actually a good game, right?

Game Review – Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner 1-2 (PS2/PS3)

digital-devil-saga12Digital Devil Saga – Avatar Tuner is a duology that makes part of the long running Shin Megami Tensei universe. It was originally released for the Playstation 2 and it is an excellent RPG, but it might as well be the best game to play for those who want to start following the “Megaten”-verse. Not only because the gameplay is one of the simplest in the series, because it doesn’t have all the fusion and talk gimmicks, but also because this may be the very origin of the whole Shin Megami Tensei Tensei lore.

Shameless Review – Omega Quintet (PS4)

Compile Heart has done some crazy shit before, but now we got this: A game about Pop-idols fighting evil monsters with microphones that look like anything but microphones and the power of fan-service! So much for that bullshit about Galapagos RPG being their sub-brand for more serious games! I don’t even need to make jokes about it, because it’s too easy when the game is already a joke by itself! So, join us in this epic battle against generic monsters. There’s no need to fear! Because song is the weapon!

Game Review – Muramasa Rebirth: Genroku Legends (PSVita)

muramasaDLC06Oboro Muramasa was an old game released for the Nintendo Wii, but at the time of its release, the console was starting to lose its overwhelming popularity, leaving this game in the obscure status. For those circumstances, the remake released for the Playstation Vita last year was already relevant, but there was something more in the makings: 4 exclusive new scenarios! This easily made Muramasa Rebirth the best game available in the PS Vita’s U.S. library. It’s even better than Dragon’s Crown, which was also developed by Vanillaware! And here is why!

Game Review – Rogue Galaxy (PS2/PS3)

roguegalaxy12Since it took about 2 years for it’s localization, Rogue Galaxy came at the end of the Playstation 2’s life span, which was a little too late to get the attention it deserved. It was almost like a legend at my country! Everyone was saying how this game was great, but nobody owned a copy back then. But The legends were true! Rogue Galaxy is really a master piece! One of the best games I’ve played recently, even though it comes from the distant past of 2005…
