Magimoji Rurumo proves romantic comedies can be different, even with the overly used school-setting. This series has less focus on the wacky-Ero stuff to be more of a heartwarming series. The plot is simple: Shibaki Kouta summons the witch Rurumo from hell almost by accident and, even though he is a disgusting pervert desperate to lose his virginity, he becomes great friends with Rurumo by seeing how pure and kind she is.Now he’s willing to help her with her training and fulfilling their contract, even though this is likely to get him killed in the end. It’s really convincing how those two become closer during their daily lives, and there’s a huge character development for the protagonist as he becomes more mature and reliable, something rare to see in this genre!I also am quite fond of this art style with skinned characters with pointy eyes and chins, which is something very unique for a genre that is known for its moe-blobs! This is a series that deserves more attention and I hope more authors can follow its example.
