Hello! I love japanese games and I’m always playing a lot of them. I fact, I love them so much that it was one of the reason I learned japanese. There is a lot of games that never get localized, and since many people get curious about them, I decided to share my thoughts on those titles. I don’t represent a group of people or anything like that, so I try so make clear that my reviews are just my opinions and nothing more. I believe there are things that might work for some, but not for everyone, so even if I hate a game from the bottom of my heart, it doesn’t mean some people might love it. For this reason, I don’t give scores during my reviews because, if the score is low, it can unconsciously discourage people from trying the game by themselves. If you have any question or suggestion please don’t hesitate to ask!

Hi gangrelion,
For the second time, I am very pleased to meet a fellow gamer and someone who I can talk to about my hobbies without much restriction. I sincerely hope we can get along.
On that thought, I have a question.
On many of your posts, you are able to only present a small amount of material, with the option to press “Continued…” to view the full post.
I understand that your review site has its own domain, but I was wondering if such a feature is available for my review site as well.
I would appreciate if you could lead me in the right direction to obtaining this feature. Thanks!
It’s very easy to use this feature and I don’t think it’s matter if your blog has its own domain or not. You only need to use an option avaliable on the upper area of the “new-post” screen. It’s called “insert more tag” and can also be added with Alt+Shift+T. It is between the “unlink” button and the “proofread writing” button. It will give you the following code in the “text” form of your post: ““, but you can customize the message as well, like I do by doing ““.
Wow! Thank you so much for that! You could probably tell by now that I’m still a newb when it comes to WordPress, haha!
Are there any new releases you’re keeping an eye on at the moment? I’m currently looking at Softhouse-Qualia and Palette’s most recent games, but I’m curious to know what kinds of games you usually go for.
P.S. I love your blog title: Otaku Overdrive. Simply by writing about 5 forms of entertainment is more than sufficient to be called “Overdrive” for sure!
Hey! Don’t mention it. You don’t need to feel ashamed about being a newb, it’s not like I am some bad-ass either. It was actually a friend of mine who teached me a lot of stuffs about how to create a blog (it was him who teached me about the “more tag” too!). I also got in the net asking around for advice from other blogger.
I am very interested in those games:

I have some doubts about those, but will definitely check them:

I also am interested in Palette’s newer one, specially because of this:

I like when main characters are “MAIN” and I see that they are trying to make the type of reliable protagonist (even though his expressions suggest he is not very good at this). I hope they succeed at it because I really hate those games where the MC is just a place holder to make the heroines draw more attention, I hate even more when he is a total loser. I don’t apreciate that atmosphere where the heroine seems to date the shujinko out of pity for how helpless he is. Yeah, I know I am weird…
i found across your blog. really intreserting.
Thanks!
your wecolme
Did they mention if the Hello Lady fandisk will have side stories for the original heroines? Anything on the drama disk?
As it is right now, there are too few info about this game. Presumably, it will feature mini after-routes for all main heroines + If-routes for two sub-characters (Mitori and Mori), since the Visual Fan book coming out at the same day will include those.
Nice blog. You bring across your content nicely and I can finally read about the things that I care about in one place.
Thanks! It’s always nice to know more people who love Japanese games!
Hello ! Thank You for the follow XD Though I do play a lot of games as well but I don’t post them much because I feel like I’m a noob lol and I’m more on the toys side of the world 🙂 Anyways I wish I was good in Japanese, there’s tons of titles I wanna try but.. sad life. Thanks for this reviews you had (so far) could at least make me imagine what it feels like.
You are welcome! I’m glad my reviews can give a taste of those games, since my main objective with this blog is to share my opinion about Japan-only titles with people who don’t know the language or can’t do imports. But I don’t have the time to play every single game out there, so you’re of a big help for me as well, even though you said you don’t post too much about games.

Hey! About a few months ago I started working on a new VN website that allows you to track and discover VNs as it’s core functionality. The website is still in alpha but there are still lots of features.
It would be great if you could give us a link for visual novel resources.
The link is at https://visualnoveler.com
Sorry, I didn’t understand what you want exactly. Are you asking me if it’s ok to use my blog as reference to your database? Because if that’s the case, sure! I don’t mind! Now, if you just want to know a link to where I get resources and info about Visual Novels, I always use Visual Novel Database (https://vndb.org/) and getchu (http://www.getchu.com/).
Or do you want me to add a link to your website on my blog? Ok, then!
I meant the latter and I will also add a truncated version of your VN reviews to the VN in my database with a link back to your review.
In case anyone uses RSS readers and would like an RSS feed of this site, the URL you want to use is:
https://otakuoverdrive.com/feed/

I wanted to get in touch to see if you were interested in working with us. Do you accept guest/sponsored posts with dofollow links? What is your price for this type of advertising?
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
